INGREDIENTS YOU NEED:
- 2 cups basmati rice.
- 1/2 tsp saffron
- 1/2 cup butter/oil
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 4 cloves
- 2 tsp ginger(minced)
- 1 1/2 cups yogurt(whisked)
- 1 onion
- 3 tsp coriander leaves(finely chopped)
- 1 cup/ 1/2 mint leaves(finely chopped)
- 2 tsp salt
PREPARATION METHOD:
- Put the drained rice in a pan and add water to just above and cover it.
- Add saffron and boil for 10 mins.
- Remove from heat and drain all the excess water and keep it aside.
- Heat the butter/oil in a pan, and add the cinnamon and cloves.
- Saute` until they crackle.Add the whisked yogurt, chopped onions,coriander and mint leaves,white pepper powder and salt.
- Put on very low heat and cover it.Cook until the rice becomes tender and the yogurt is absorbed.
